We are anticipating new policies slated to begin in 2008 where there will be no designation for Valedictorian or Salutatorian status.

   Therefore, in anticipation of these new policies, we will no longer be recognizing Salutatorians and Valedictorians from each school. 

   We will, however, continue to recognize National Merit winners and Harrison County Student Achievement Scholarship recipients at the annual Student Achievement Banquet.

   In addition, we have made changes to the scoring of the scholarship as follows:

 Academics: 15 points
 Leadership/Participation: 10 points
 Initiative/Potential: 10 points
 Other:  5 points

   Each applicant is given a total number of points by each member of the committee based upon the answers given.   The Chairman of the Committee totals the number of points each applicant receives from the committee members and students who receive the highest number of points are awarded the scholarships.
